The Washington Redskins had interest in David Shaw for their head-coaching vacancy in December, according to Jason La Canfora's CBS Sports report. David Shaw didn't have interest in the Redskins. He didn't speak with the Redskins, didn't instruct his agent to speak with the Redskins, and didn't interview with the Redskins.
Shaw spent nine seasons as an NFL assistant, most recently as Baltimore Ravens' receivers coach in 2005 before joining Jim Harbaugh's San Diego staff in 2006. One year later, he planned to return to the NFL if Harbaugh didn't land the Stanford job and didn't take Shaw with him. Harbaugh landed the job and Shaw has never considered a return to the NFL.
