ESPN College GameDay Predictions for Week 4 of the 2018 Season

ESPN College GameDay Predictions for Week 4 of the 2018 Season

Through three weeks of the college football season, ESPN College GameDay has picked three schools in three different conferences (including Independents). Will the show visit a fourth different in Week 4 or return to an Independent, SEC or Big 12 school?

RANKINGS: Alabama is No. 1; Who's No. 2?[divider]

After broadcasting from South Bend in Week 1 and College Station in Week 2, ESPN will visit Fort Worth for a rare show that's not broadcast from the site of a game. The featured game, Ohio State vs. TCU, is being played about 20 miles east at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Ready for some gambling? Here are four potential options for College GameDay in Week 4, ranked:

1. Stanford at Oregon

ESPN visited two Pac-12 schools in 2016 (Washington and Utah) but they didn't go west in 2017. They've visited Eugene eight times (all since 2007) but haven't been to Oregon since the Ducks hosted Michigan State in 2014.

Following Stanford's emphatic win over USC last week and with renewed optimism at Oregon, this is suddenly a big-time game that's the favorite to land GameDay in Week 4.

2. Texas A&M at Alabama

This game would be No. 1 if not for the Iron Bowl, which is the clear front-runner for Week 14. It's not as good of a game as Stanford-Oregon but if there's more national appeal with Jimbo vs. Saban than Stanford vs. Oregon.

Featuring Texas A&M in back-to-back weeks isn't ideal but after last week's near-upset of Clemson, the program is back in the national picture and could make things interesting in Tuscaloosa, where GameDay hasn't visited since 2016.

3. Arizona State at Washington

Washington's Week 1 loss to Auburn crushed some of the hype surrounding the Huskies but they're still a premier program contending for a playoff spot.

Their Week 4 game vs. Arizona State wasn't circled even two weeks ago but after the Sun Devils upset of Michigan State and immediate success of Herm Edwards, this matchup in Seattle has major national appeal.

4. Mississippi State at Kentucky

This would be bold, though not impossible.

In Week 2, Mississippi State throttled Kansas State on the road and Kentucky made headlines by beating Florida for the first time since 1986.

Kentucky has hosted GameDay once: Oct. 20, 2007, vs. Florida, but that's the Wildcats one and only appearance as a home or road team. Mississippi State, meanwhile, hasn't been featured since 2014, when they made their only two all-time appearances.

Passing on Eugene, Tuscaloosa and Seattle for Lexington would be bold.
