When UAB and Ohio hit the field for the Bahamas Bowl on Friday, Dec. 22, NFL scouts will have their eyes on a fringe draft prospect for the Ohio Bobcats, inside linebacker Quentin Poling.

Currently the No. 13 inside linebacker in the 2018 class according to NFL Draft Scout, Poling is 5-foot-11, weighs 235 pounds, and amassed a ton of tackles for the Bobcats this season.
Poling totaled 102 tackles (47 solo) to lead the team and recorded 5.5 sacks, 4 passes defended and 3 forced fumbles this year, accumulating early 30 more tackles than any of his teammates. He was third in the MAC this season in total sacks, and finished 2.5 sacks off the conference leader (Northern Illinois' Sutton Smith).
Poling is a projected a free agent pickup at this stage in the game, but a strong performance to close the year would certainly help his cause.
Other Ohio players receiving some consideration are tight end Troy Mangen, center Jake Pruehs and junior tackle Joe Lowery.
UAB currently has no draft prospects ranked inside the top 100 at their position. Freshman running back Spencer Brown is drawing some early buzz after a 1,000-yard season this year.
