J.T. Barrett was the talk of the Heisman Trophy town after Ohio State's thrilling victory over Penn State, and for good measure. But Nittany Lions running back Saquon Barkley is still the favorite according to Vegas oddsmakers.

Ohio State and Penn State — who were ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, in the College Football Playoff rankings this week — gave us a gem of a game, a 39-38 Buckeye win in the final two minutes on a Barrett TD pass to Marcus Baugh.
Barrett finished 33-of-39 for 328 yards and four touchdowns, also leading the Buckeyes on the ground with 17 carries for 95 yards. He firmly planted his name in the Heisman Trophy conversation, jumping from out of the discussion into the top 3 in Bovada's odds.
But don't forget about Saquon Barkley. Yes, his performance against Ohio State wasn't your typical dominant running back day. He had 21 carries for just 44 yards and a touchdown, and caught four passes for 23 yards. The silver lining, however, was his 97-yard kickoff return to start the game as he continued to impact games in multiple ways.
Barkley remains the favorite for the Heisman Trophy according to Bovada. Here's the updated Heisman odds:
Player | Team | Pos. | Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Saquon Barkley | Penn State | RB | -225 |
Bryce Love | Stanford | RB | +600 |
Baker Mayfield | Oklahoma | QB | +800 |
