UCLA just lost to a Group of Five team last week, a 30-23 decision at UNLV. Could it happen again?
New Mexico isn’t the same kind of team that UNLV is. But the Lobos did just earn their first win of Jason Eck’s tenure as head coach. They defeated Idaho State 32-22 at home.
Could the Lobos end up finding some momentum after a game like that?

New Mexico vs. UCLA Prediction
I predict UCLA will win and cover the 15.5-point spread. I also project the game will go Over 53.5 total points.
I imagine the Bruins are going to be highly motivated to bounce back after losing to UNLV last week. They’re also at home and don’t want to get upset – again – with this time being in front of their own fans.
I don’t think New Mexico is a bad team. But UCLA has more talent and will desperately want to avoid an 0-3 start to the season.
I’m anticipating UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava will put together a fantastic game, both through the air and on the ground, and that this matchup will be decided by the fourth quarter.
