FCS teams take on the FBS 117 times in the 2021 season.
There were 114 FCS vs. FBS games scheduled for 2020 until the season was disrupted by COVID, resulting in a tough blow for FCS athletic departments. Many of these programs rely on the guaranteed payouts from FBS games to support their budget. Some teams schedule two FBS opponents a year, which hurts their chances at a playoff bid but helps the football program and its athletic department’s operating costs.
Plus, it’s an opportunity for teams and players to showcase the level of play in the FCS with a lot of these games being competitive and some resulting in upsets.
As we did for last year’s games that ended up not happening, we will gather as many 2021 FCS vs. FBS payouts as possible.
We will continue to update this when we get more payout figures.
