The FCS has been impacted negatively and positively by the portal. Several FCS standouts have moved to the FBS. But the FCS has also seen many FBS transfers have a huge impact on their team.
Last year, there were 2.5 times more FBS-to-FCS transfers than FCS-to-FBS transfers. Entering the 2023 season, there are 1.5 times more FBS-to-FCS transfers than FCS-to-FBS transfers.
