The FCS playoff committee will release its Top 10 ranking later this week, providing a peek at which teams have impressed them the most so far this season.
The reveal will be at 2 p.m. ET Thursday on ESPN2 during “College Football Live.”
An in-season ranking by the committee occurred for multiple years in the late 2010s, but it went away the last two seasons. The return is welcomed by many FCS followers.
How was the ranking formed?
It’s a Top 10 formed from each committee member voting individually, just like any other poll.
What does the ranking mean?
A lot can change between this week and when the bracket is announced on Nov. 19, including the top eight teams who get seeds and first-round byes. The committee’s Top 10 on Thursday is not projecting ahead, but ranking the best teams at this point in the season.
