FCS COACHING CHANGES: The List – And Why
THE TURNING POINT
With the game tied at 14-14, neither team looked to have a clear advantage. At the beginning of the 4th quarter Kennesaw State’s junior linebacker Bryson Armstrong forced a fumble, and sophomore defensive back Cincere Mason recovered it and returned it to the Wofford 20. Kennesaw State setup shop and after a big penalty by Wofford, and a few Jonathan Murphy runs Kennsaw State took the 21-14 lead and never looked back.[divider]
THE SUMMARY
The dominating storyline coming into this game was Kennesaw State being ranked #1 in FCS rushing, and Wofford being ranked #2 in rushing. Which team would be able to establish the run and stay true to the run? Which defense would be able to make the opposing offense switch it up? Wofford stopped Kennesaw State on their first possession. Additionally, they took the ball directly down the field and scored on Kennesaw State. Early on it appeared Kennesaw State would be the team that needed to adjust.
Sophomore quarterback Jonathan Murphy came in and made an impact early. After getting a few possessions, he looked seasoned and never really looked back. He ended the game with 206 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. The Kennesaw State Defense also jumped up to the challenge. They Held Wofford to 2-11 on 3rd down, and to only 111 rushing yards. TJ Luther was a bright spot for Wofford, he caught 5 balls for 120 yards and a touchdown but even his efforts were not enough.

THE QUOTE
“People just didn’t give us much credit this year. You know … 'we shouldn’t be in the playoffs, strength of schedule, all that', After a really good win, and good performance in all three phases, Kennesaw State showed they do belong." – Kennesaw State coach Brian Bohannon[divider]
PREVIEW OF NEXT WEEK
Kennesaw State is set to travel to Weber State to take on the Wildcats. This has the makings to be every bit of exciting as the Kennesaw State/Wofford game. Weber State ranks 10th in rushing defense only surrendering 107 yards per game. Kennesaw State boasts the #1 rushing offense in the whole FCS averaging a ridiculous 350 yards per game. More than likely this game will come down to Weber State neutralizing Kennesaw State, or Kennesaw State forcing Weber’s defense to adjust. Which team will prevail?
