VOTE: Who has the Best Offense in the FCS?

As the FCS season reaches its final leg and the playoff picture becomes clearer, there are teams and players that have separated themselves from the pack. So let’s take a look at these standouts and let the fans decide who is the best.

COMPARISON TOOL: FCS Teams | FCS Players

Vote for the options listed below or feel free to write in a candidate you believe is the best. Poll closes Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 12 Pacific.

Note: statistics represent games as of Oct. 21, 2017.

South Dakota

Stats: 563.7 YPG, 41 TDs, 43.3 PPG

The Coyotes have become a juggernaut to stop as the most improved team in the FCS at 6-1. Quarterback Chris Streveler does it all for them, throwing for 2,305 yards, 19 touchdowns and two interceptions and adding 477 yards and eight scores on the ground. He spreads the love, with seven players having double-digit catches.

Sam Houston State

Stats: 563.4 YPG, 39 TDs, 45.4 PPG

With NFL prospect Jeremiah Briscoe at quarterback, the Bearkats have plenty of weapons to use. Briscoe has thrown for 2,516 yards and 22 touchdowns already. Eight of those have gone to sophomore star Nathan Stewart, who has 952 yards.

Richmond

Stats: 490.9 YPG, 34 TDs, 36.3 PPG

Quarterback Kyle Lauletta is showing just how valuable he is for the Spiders and why he’s considered a top gunslinger in the FCS. He's thrown for 2,643 yards and 23 touchdowns. Cortrelle Simpson and Dejon Brissett are both over 700 yards receiving while Tyler Wilkins leads the team with six touchdowns.

COMPARE: Richmond vs. Any Team

Lehigh

Stats: 490.7 YPG, 36 TDs, 36.0 PPG

Lehigh has lit it up with 356.3 yards passing per game. Troy Pelletier and Gatlin Casey continue to be a dynamic duo at wide receiver, combining for 1,331 yards and 15 touchdowns. Lehigh has yet to score under 20 points in a game.

COMPARE: Lehigh vs. Any Team

Montana

Stats: 482.4 YPG, 33 TDs, 39.1 PPG

Bob Stitt’s offense is tough to slow down once it gets rolling. Even with Reese Phillips having his season cut short, Gresch Jensen has filled in nicely at quarterback. He has thrown for 1,630 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Griz are beginning to roll as they eye the playoffs, scoring 45, 39 and 41 points during their current three-game winning streak.

South Dakota State

Stats: 448.7 YPG, 37 TDs, 38.4 PPG

In their two losses, the SDSU offense struggled against solid defenses. But the Jackrabbits are still putting up big numbers and own one of the most dangerous offenses in the FCS. Tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receiver Jake Wieneke are NFL prospects and quarterback Taryn Christion was the MVFC Offensive Player of the Year last season.

COMPARE: South Dakota State vs. Any Team

Northern Arizona

Stats: 450.6 YPG, 30 TDs, 34.9 PPG

Quarterback Case Cookus is a star. He returns after missing most of last season and has thrown for 2,224 yards and 18 touchdowns, even with all-American receiver Emmanuel Butler out for the year with an injury. Elijah Marks is nearing 1,000 yards receiving and Cory Young has six scores on the ground.

COMPARE: Northern Arizona vs. Any Team

Eastern Washington

Stats: 469.6 YPG, 36 TDs, 34.9 PPG

The Eagles are starting to find their identity. First-year head coach Aaron Best wants a balanced attack, but when you have Gage Gubrud at quarterback, you let him sling the ball around. His new wide receiver stable is starting to get comfortable as well. The Eagles were on a five-game winning streak until last weekend, scoring more than 30 points in all of those games.

Princeton

Stats: 485.8 YPG, 31 TDs, 40.7 PPG

The Tigers have scored 50, 53 and 52 points in their last three games. Jesper Horsted has developed a great connection with Chad Kanoff, hauling in 712 yards and eight touchdowns. The running attack gets the job done as well, averaging 165 yards per game.

COMPARE: Princeton vs. Any Team

Southeastern Louisiana

Stats: 488.6 YPG, 40 TDs, 42.0 PPG

The Lions are gaining steam, scoring 49 points or more in the last four weeks. They showed something offensively to kick off the season, scoring 48 on FBS Louisiana-Lafayette in a three-point loss. SELA is running for an impressive 321 yards per game with three different players right around the 500-yard mark on the season.
