When you win seven of the last eight FCS national titles, there are some wild statistics that come with it. The North Dakota State sports information department does a great job digging into those numbers, whether it's winning streaks after bye weeks, records in conference openers or records in the green alternate helmets.
But there's another massive streak that the Bison are on that has almost been too casual. Everyone is so used to NDSU winning games that this one crept up on us this season.

With a win against No. 10 Northern Iowa on Saturday, NDSU would hit the second-longest winning streak in FCS history. Right now, the Bison have won 26 straight games dating back to the 2017 season. That's tied with James Madison's streak of 26 victories from 2016-2017 that coincidentally ended against NDSU in the national title game.
Here's another coincidence: The record for the longest FCS winning streak is 33 games set by the Bison from 2012-2014. The team that ended the streak? Northern Iowa.
We'll see if the Panthers can spoil a Bison streak again. If not, the Bison will be on the second-best run in the subdivision's history. And they'll have done it within a seven-year span.
