15: Case Cookus, QB (Jr.) — Northern Arizona
Something tells us there's going to be records broken over at NAU. There have been key injuries the last two years, yet this team has still managed to be one of the most elite offenses in the Big Sky. Two years ago, Cookus was sidelined with a season-ending injury. Last year the same happened to NFL Draft prospect wide receiver Emmanuel Butler.
With both of these guys healthy along with other weapons, the numbers are going to be outrageous.
Cookus immediately inserted himself into the conversation as a top quarterback in the subdivision as the 2015 FCS Freshman of the Year. He came back last year off of injury and threw for 3,413 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions as an All-Big Sky First Team selection.
He's only a junior and a number to keep an eye on is his career touchdown passes. The current record is 140 by Grambling's Bruce Eugene. Cookus is more than halfway there with 72 and two seasons remaining.
