Scott arrived in Ruston, La., as a preferred walk-on in 2013. The Zachary, La., native had zero scholarship offers and redshirted in 2013 before seeing minimal action in 2014. He began turning heads as a redshirt sophomore in 2015 with an 8.1 yards-per-carry average in his first season of significant action. Over his final three seasons, Scott had 1,830 yards on 296 carries, or 6.2 yards per tote.
The 5-foot-6, 203-pounder closed his career with three straight 100-yard games, including 109 in the Bulldogs' demolition of SMU in the DXL Frisco Bowl, their fourth straight bowl appearance and win, both extensions of program records.
DRAFT DIARY: Middle Tennessee WR Richie James
Scott largely flew under the radar because of his size, pedestrian stats from 2014-16 and overshadowing presence of legitimate NFL offensive prospects during most of his career in receivers Carlos Henderson and Trent Taylor and quarterback Jeff Driskel. Though Scott won't be as highly coveted as that trio, he's still on the 2018 draft radar, has signed with an agent (Cameron Weiss of Empire Athletes) is spending the next three months training in Ruston, with hopes of being selected or dubbed a sought-after undrafted free agent.
As he prepares for the draft over the next three months, he'll provide fans a unique look at the process with a Draft Diary series in which HERO Sports will document his journey.
