Saturday's Big 12 tilt between No. 6 TCU and No. 5 Oklahoma has College Football Playoff impact well beyond the conference. The winner remains in great position. The loser may be looking to next season. But this game will play a role for other conferences, too.

The Stars
Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield is a Heisman candidate and may be the favorite already. If he has another big game and the Sooners beat TCU, he's certainly going to be the most talked about candidate.

TCU doesn't have a big-name player on offense, but sophomore Darius Anderson is getting there fast. He's averaging 6.0 yards per carry and is No 4 in the Big 12 in rushing yards despite 60 fewer touches than the leader.

The Horned Frogs, however, make up for the lack of playmakers on offense with a stout defense — the best in the Big 12 — led by two star defensive linemen.

So which team has the edge? That depends on which unit you believe in more: The Sooners' offense or the TCU defense.
