Collin Hill connected with Shi Smith on an 11-yard touchdown pass on South Carolina’s opening drive to take a 7-0 lead on Ole Miss in Week 11. It was a brief moment of excitement in Oxford for a team that entered the game 2-7 in their last nine road games.
Ole Miss tied the game four minutes later and took the lead their next drive en route to a 59-42, sending the Gamecocks to their 14th loss in their last 20 games. Jessica Jackson is South Carolina’s Director of On-Campus Recruiting. She didn’t elaborate on the allegations, nor did any other South Carolina staffers make similar allegations. She did, however, reply to a tweet, saying “The players were very respectful and the stadium staff was top notch.” As of Sunday morning, Ole Miss has not responded to the allegations, nor have they returned a request to HERO Sports for comment.
South Carolina returns to Columbia in Week 12 to host Missouri in their third-to-last regular-season game, while Ole Miss is scheduled to visit Texas A&M in Week 12.
