Jason Candle found a potential replacement to record-setting quarterback Logan Woodside on Wednesday when three-star quarterback Carter Bradley chose the Rockets. The 6-foot-3, 208-pounder from Jacksonville, Fla. is the 17th-ranked pro-style passer in the 2018 class (and son of former Jaguars head coach and current Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley) and carried nearly two dozen offers into the early signing period.
He visited Toledo in late November, the same weekend he also visited Washington State, and two weeks before Ole Miss offered him a scholarship. And on Wednesday, less than a week after Candle ended Power Five coaching rumors by signing a six-year contract extension, Bradley surprised some folks by passing on bigger offers to play in the MAC. In addition to Louisville and Ole Miss, he also had offers from Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
