A difficult season for Nebraska football will come to end on Dec. 30 when the Huskers play in the Music City Bowl. And their de facto hosts in that game, Tennessee — playing in Nashville, just 180 miles west of Knoxville — are not forgetting the reason behind their opponents' anguish.
Nebraska punter Sam Foltz was killed alongside former Michigan State punter Mike Salder in a car accident on July 23, just days before Foltz would begin his final fall camp in Lincoln. The All-Big Ten player who played high school football in nearby Grand Island, Neb., has been honored throughout the season by many teams, players, coaches and the media. And that will continue on Friday when his team faces Tennessee in their season finale.
