Week 3 of the NFL season gave us all kinds of fabulous endings and upsets.
Case in point.

But it was even more fabulous this weekend if you were a Vegas bookmaker.
Ten of yesterday's 13 underdogs covered the spread with Jacksonville, Buffalo, Chicago, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Washington, and the New York Jets winning outright. If you include Minnesota, a two-point underdog just before kickoff until the line shifted to a pick'em, a whopping eight NFL dogs won outright.
Sportsbooks all over Nevada claimed the day as one of their best ever. They especially took the public for a ride when Oakland failed to cover the -3 at Washington. Just before kickoff, seven times as much money was on the Raiders than the Redskins.
Hopefully Sunday's upsets didn't do too much damage to your bank account, and the next time you're having a bad day, just be thankful you aren't this guy.
The Bears' overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers set the tone at MGM, which took a $340,000-plus money-line bet on the Steelers to win straight-up at -340 odds. That money stayed with the book.
