College Football Teams Who’ve Made the Most (and Fewest) 2020 Scholarship Offers

Southern Miss has made 510 scholarship offers to 2020 football recruits. Boise State, Northwestern, Old Dominion, Rice, Stanford, UTEP and Washington have made 455 offers to 2020 football recruits. Combined. Those seven schools have combined for 55 fewer offers than Southern Miss. 

As of Thursday, Aug. 1, the first day programs can officially offer scholarships to 2020 recruits, FBS programs have made 26,458 offers (247Sports). Only one program, Southern Miss, has made more than 500 offers, while 19 programs have made fewer than 100 offers apiece, including four of the Golden Eagles' Conference USA foes: Middle Tennessee (96), Old Dominion (76), Rice (58), and UTEP (51). UTEP's 51 offers are the fewest of any FBS program.

The SEC leads all conferences with an average of 277 offers per team, followed by the ACC and Big Ten (246). The Mountain West, on average, has the fewest offers (141), followed by the Pac-12 (172) and Sun Belt (176).

The Big 12 has the highest commitment rate (7.2 percent), while the Mountain West has the lowest commit rate (3.2 percent).
