5 Favorites for the World Series This Year

If you're into baseball, you might be wondering who might win this coming season's World Series. In this article, we're going to look at some of the hopefuls come this fall. Can the Washington Nationals repeat their first ever World Series Win? Will The Dodgers finally do it this century? Let's have a look at some of the hopefuls…

After all, the World Series is the biggest prize in baseball, and it'll have every team fighting for it from the start of the season. While it's difficult for a team to repeat and win twice in two years, it's far from impossible. The Washington Nationals made history by winning their first title in the 2019 season. They'll be trying to win it again this year, but so will many other teams.

The World Series, and baseball in general is also something you can bet on. So in this article, we'll also look at the betting odds for the overall championship. Where are you going to be putting your money? You can find some of the best betting sites online via a number of useful reviews, like this one on 888sport.

Who could win the World Series in 2020?

Please note that all odds are in decimal format.

Washington Nationals – 18.00

As we already touched on, the Nationals are the current World Champions after winning their first title last fall. Even after losing star player Bryce Harper to the Phillies. Their young roster really stepped up. You might be surprised that the Nats aren't favorites for this season's World Series, but they should still have a good chance to be there and there abouts. It's hard to repeat, especially after winning your first ever title. That might be why the odds are so long—but it could be a good value outside bet if you think they've got the quality to do it again.

New York Yankees – 4.00

The Yankees are always there or there abouts in the preseason betting. That's because they always spend big and normally have a very competitive squad. This season is actually no different, and they're join favorites with the Dodgers (who we'll look at in a minute). The Yankees are the most famous team in baseball, but are they the best? You can get quite short odds of 4.00 on them to win the World Series this year.

Los Angeles Dodgers – 4.00

Since the Los Angeles Dodgers changed owners a few years back, they've been the biggest spending team in baseball. This money has translated to some improvement on the field, but they still haven't won the World Series for some time now, despite being runner up within the last few years. Can they go one step further and finally win the big championship again? The bookies certainly think so, and you can get 4.00 decimal odds on them doing it this year.

Houston Astros – 9.00

The Houston Astros have been one of the best teams over the last few years, winning the World Series and reaching another within just a few short years. Can Altuve and co do it again? Despite some controversy in last year's World Series, they've still got a great chance of going one step further this year. You can get 9.00 decimal odds on them doing it.

Atlanta Braves – 17.00

Perhaps you might think this is an outside choice for the title, but the Atlanta Braves have got a real shot this year after making some key recruitments. You can get them at generous odds of 17.00 if you'd rather a longer value bet.

Who do you think will win the World Series this year? Have a look at the odds and make your choice.
