In beating Wisconsin in the 2011 Rose Bowl (after the 2010 college football), TCU finished the season undefeated (14-0) and, then as a member of the Mountain West, became the third Group of Five to go undefeated in the last three years and the fifth in the last seven years.
Since then, UCF's noisy 2017 season is the only undefeated season among Group of Five teams, though there are three strong contenders, UCF among them, to run the table in 2020.
