VOTE: Which D3 Stud is Having the Most Impressive Season?

VOTE: Which D3 Stud is Having the Most Impressive Season?

Most D3 squads have played about half the games on their schedule as we approach mid-October, so what better time than now to vote on who has had the most impressive season so far.

Johns Hopkins is No. 1, but Who's No 2?
Special Team Standouts | Best September Team[divider]

Vote on the five candidates below, and make sure to share with family, friends, and alums so they can get in on the action too.

Tanner Clark — Marietta

A nominee for our Offensive Player of the Week earlier this year, Clark continues to terrorize defenses to the tune of 263.6 total yards per game.

He's already rushed for 931 yards through five contests to go along with 95 through the air and 292 on kick returns. His 186.2 rushing yards per game and 14 touchdowns on the ground are both Ohio Athletic bests.

His most impressive performance of the season came during a 51-50 shootout win over Capital in which the back ran for 311 yards on 34 carries while tying the school record for most touchdowns in a game with six.

Cole Austin — Coast Guard

Just call him Mr. Consistency.

Austin leads all of Division III in field goal attempts (13), makes (11), and average field goals made per game (1.83). He was instrumental in Coast Guard's dramatic 38-35 win Saturday over Norwich by scoring the Bears' first nine points when the offense bogged down.

Austin is also 13 of 14 on PATs this season, went 8 of 9 on field goals in 2017, and has scored 114 career points (and counting) thus far in this career.

Chaiten Tomlin — Mount St. Joseph

Tomlin is a huge reason the Lions have jumped out to an impressive 4-1 mark and have scored 49 or more points three times on the season.

The junior leads D3 in both passing yards with 1,967 and touchdown strikes with 26. Just as impressive, the QB has been picked off only four times on 191 attempts.

Tomlin is picking up where he left off last season, which included an insane 27 of 48 performance for 500 yards and nine TD passes during a 71-27 victory over Anderson (IN).

Andrew Wolf — Washington and Jefferson

Only a sophomore, Wolf leads D3 in receiving yards with 893 and touchdown receptions with 13.

His astounding performances are part of the reason the team is 6-0 and have skyrocketed up our rankings all the way to no. 28.

The 6-1 stud from Ashland, Ohio, is averaging a whopping 148 receiving yards per game, and he came up huge in the school's season-opening win over St. John Fisher by catching nine passes for 214 yards and three scores.

Matt Sylvia — Salve Regina

How does averaging 1.2 interceptions per game sound?

It probably sounds like video game numbers, but the sophomore has indeed picked off opposing QBs an astounding sevens times through six games.

After appearing in three games as a freshman, the 6-2 Sylvia is terrorizing offenses with his ball-hawking skills, and he even returned a blocked field goal 81 yards for a score against Western New England
