Adidas and Texas State tried to do something bold. They fell flat on their faces.
The Bobcats are looking for a turnaround year after winning five total games the last two years. They'll be led by second-year head coach Everett Withers — a former North Carolina and Ohio State assistant — and Mississippi State transfer Damian Williams at quarterback.
And their quest to Sun Belt relevancy will include some atrocious all-gold uniforms. The individual parts of the uniforms — white helmet with silver logo, gold pants and gold jersey — are not bad. However, when combined, it creates a bizarre outfit that looks more like a gymnastic leotard than a college football uniform.
