Five hundred and eighty-seven players on American Alliance of Football (AAF) rosters hail from 227 different colleges.
The eight-team AAF begins their inaugural 10-game season with four games on Saturday, Feb. 9. Rosters are created using a USFL-inspired allocation system in which each team is assigned a territory that includes colleges, NFL teams and one CFL team. Teams are given the first chance to sign a player within their territory. (Listen to Jeff Pearlman talk about this allocation system and more on the High Motor Podcast.)
As of Monday, Jan. 21, five college football teams have at least 10 players on AAF rosters. Twenty-six more schools have at least five players, and 49 more have at least three players.
