There are two ways to announce that you're struggling with ticket sales. Just flat-out say "we're struggling with ticket sales." Or conduct a promotion that says one ticket is worth the same price of a Taco Bell value meal.
After going 10-4 and making appearances in the Pac-12 Championship and Fiesta Bowl in 2014, Arizona football has won 10 total games the last two seasons, including just three last year, tying their second-lowest single-season win total since 1957.
“We know what the problems are and how to fix them,” Rodriguez said after beating Arizona State in the 2016 season finale. ". . . We’re going to be better than OK,” Rodriguez said. “Sometimes you gotta get knocked down to the bottom to get back up. We’re down at the bottom, but we’ll get back up.”
Rodriguez and the Wildcats, ranked No. 63 in the HERO Sports Top 100, are still trying to convince fans that they "going to be better than OK." Clearly anticipating low ticket sales, they announced a promotion for 2-for-1 tickets if you purchase a value meal at Taco Bell.
