Best College Football Highlights You May Have Missed from Week 0

College football returned on Saturday.

Can I get an amen?

A total of eight games took place at the FBS and FCS levels on a Saturday that was dubbed by college football (or perhaps to be more accurate, ESPN) as week 0. It didn't take long for the first jaw-dropping plays and comebacks to hit our televisions and social media accounts.

Didn't get a chance to see them all? Here's the best highlights you might have missed from week 0.

The First FCS Touchdown of the Season

Florida A&M was officially the first college football team to find the end zone on Saturday when quarterback Ryan Stanley ran 9 yards to pay dirt during his team's 29-7 win over Texas Southern.

The First FBS Touchdown of the Season

A few hours after Florida A&M's TD, Oregon State became the first FBS squad to find the end zone in 2017 when Jake Luton hit Timmy Hernandez for this 39-yard strike.

The First Comeback of the Season

Hawaii roared back from a 14-point third-quarter deficit to spoil UMass's home opener when Dru Brown found Metuisela 'Unga in the back of the end zone with just 48 seconds left. The Warriors scored 24 points in the game's last 17:09 to complete the 38-35 win.

The First Blowout of the Season

Colorado State made a strong play for the honors by knocking off Pac-12 foe Oregon State 58-27 in the first game inside new Hughes Stadium.

But the week 0 award for biggest blowout goes to Stanford, which completely dominated Rice in the Sydney College Football Cup by a score of 62-7. The Cardinal rolled up 656 yards of offense en route to a dominating 38-0 halftime lead.

The player of the game was clearly Stanford running back Bryce Love who ripped off 180 yards on just 13 carries.

Colgate Defense Holds Cal Poly Option Attack In Check

Colgate played disciplined defense all afternoon against Cal Poly and held the vaunted option game to just 210 yards, including a stifling 3.4 yards per carry.

Poly has not adjusted to Colgate's defense of the triple option, and the Mustangs could be in trouble.
