Kansas has made offers to 119 offensive skill players in the 2020 football recruiting class. Texas has made 117 offers. Total.
Today, Thursday, Aug. 1, is the first day that FBS program can make official offers to 2020 recruits, and while the recruiting cycle is months away from its completion, we have a good picture of which Big 12 teams are the most and least selective with 2020 offers.
As of Aug. 1, Big 12 teams have made a total of 2,013 offers (according to 247Sports), nearly 17 percent of which came from Kansas, whose 334 offers are the most of any Big 12 program. The Jayhawks have the most commits of any team but the ninth-lowest commitment rate (6.6 percent). Only West Virginia, who ranks second in total offers (323) has a lower commit rate (3.7 percent).
Texas is one of four teams who've made fewer than 150 offers to 2020 recruits, and although the Longhorns have the second-fewest total commits (11), they have the third-highest commit rate (9.4 percent).
