Bowling Green football is once again honoring former students who've perished while serving our country.
Last November, the Falcons donned orange helmets for their pre-Veteran's Day game vs. Akron. The helmets featured the names of all 111 former Bowling Green students who have died during service. They'll wear similar helps against the Zips again in 2017.
On Memorial Day, they unveiled stunning brown helmets that feature a stars-and-stripes logo and the names of those 111 individuals. Bowling Green alum and Vietnam veteran David Ridenour compiled the names last year.

"Bowling Green State University has had a proud tradition of educating and supporting students who have made significant contributions to our country, community and BGSU," he said last year. "It is important that we never forget the sacrifices of our men and women in service to our country, particularly the 111 men who made the supreme sacrifice. BGSU is commended for remembering them on Military Appreciation Day. As a veteran and graduate of BGSU, I am proud of my Bowling Green State University for this endeavor."
All active military and veterans receive free admission to the Sept. 30 game vs. Akron. Here's a look at the helmets:
