In what is shaping up as a potential defensive struggle, Campbell visits Elon in a game featuring once-unbeaten teams in Coastal Athletic Association play.
These are two of the top defensive teams in the CAA. Elon (11-5, 2-1) is third in the CAA in scoring defense, allowing 67.1 points per game. Campbell (7-9, 2-1) is right behind at fourth in scoring defense (67.7 ppg.).
Elon is fifth in the CAA in scoring (76.1 PPG) while Campbell is ninth (69.8 PPG).
Campbell is coming off Thursday’s 66-55 CAA win at Hampton. The Fighting Camels overcame a 10-point halftime deficit. All five starters scored in double figures, led by 6-foot-3 senior Jasin Sinani, who had 21 points.
Elon saw its four-game win streak snapped with Thursday’s 78-65 loss at first-place William & Mary. Sam Sherry, a 6-foot-11 senior, had 14 points and 11 rebounds, his fifth double-double of the season. Elon’s leading scorer is 6-foot-7 sophomore Nick Dorn, who averages 15.9 points per game while shooting a team-high .372 from three-point range. Sherry is averaging a team-high 8.2 points.
Sinani is averaging a team-high 13.3 points for Campbell, while 6-foot-7 sophomore Colby Duggan is the other double-figure scorer, averaging 11.7 points.

Campbell at Elon Prediction
I like Elon covering the points.
Elon is 6-0 at home while Campbell is 4-6 on the road. With a scoring margin of 9.0, Elon is second in the CAA, while Campbell’s scoring margin is just 2.1, which is ninth in the CAA.
With both teams strong defensively, it’s no surprise that each defends the three-point field goal well. Campbell is holding teams to .301 shooting from beyond the arc, second in the CAA, while Elon is fourth (.308).
Campbell is ninth in three-point percentage (.326) while Elon is 12th (.315).
One thing in Campbell’s favor is free throw shooting. The Fighting Camels lead the CAA in free throw percentage and were 17th nationally entering Sunday (.784). Elon is 10th in the CAA (.706).
The key for Campbell will be getting to the foul line. The Fighting Camels average 19.1 free throws per game. Elon is only allowing 13.18 free throws per game. The Phoenix will have an excellent shot of winning (and covering) if they limit Campbell to that total.
