George Mason puts its seven-game win streak on the line when the Patriots visit Loyola Chicago in Tuesday’s Atlantic 10 action.

On Saturday, George Mason (16-1, 4-0) earned an 86-80 home win over VCU. It was George Mason’s first home victory over VCU since 2016. The Patriots won despite shooting 3-for-14 from three-point range (.214), including 0-for-6 in the second half.

Senior guard Fatt Hill, a transfer from Ball State, came off the bench to score 16 points and hit all 10 of his free throw attempts for the Patriots.

The lone George Mason loss this season was a 73-62 defeat at Virginia Tech.

Loyola Chicago (5-12, 1-3) is looking to snap a three-game losing streak following Saturday’s 101-66 loss at George Washington. In Saturday’s loss, the Ramblers were never in the game after starting off with a 22-0 deficit.

George Mason at Loyola Chicago Odds

As of this writing, George Mason is a 9.5-point college basketball betting favorite via BetMGM.

The Over/Under is at 140.5 points.

Tipoff for George Mason at Loyola Chicago is shortly after 7 p.m. ET.

The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

George Mason at Loyola Chicago Prediction

I like George Mason to cover.

Loyola Chicago’s three Atlantic 10 losses have come by an average of 20.6 points.

Even though Loyola Chicago will be at home, the Ramblers are just 3-6 in Chicago. George Mason is 2-1 on the road.

Loyola Chicago is near the bottom of the Atlantic 10 in both scoring and scoring defense. The Ramblers entered the week 13th in the 14-team conference in scoring, averaging 68.3 points. They are also 13th in scoring defense, allowing 76.8 points per game. Loyola Chicago’s -8.5 scoring margin is last in the Atlantic 10.

George Mason averages 78.9 points and allows 66.9 points, for a 12.1 scoring margin.

One key will be three-point shooting. While George Mason is a middle-of-the-pack team in three-point percentage (.345), Loyola Chicago is last in the conference in three-point defense, allowing teams to shoot .371.

Loyola Chicago shoots just .313 from beyond the arc, while George Mason holds teams to a .323 percentage.

George Mason also holds the free-throw advantage – .742 to .690.

For Loyola Chicago to be competitive, the Ramblers will have to take better care of the ball. They are last in the Atlantic 10 in turnover margin, -4.76 per game. George Mason has a 1.00 turnover margin.

Junior guard Kory Mincy leads a balanced George Mason offense. He is averaging 16.6 points, one of five double-figure scorers for the Patriots.

Loyola Chicago is hoping that 6-foot-7 senior Joshua Ola-Joseph can enjoy a second straight big game. Ola-Joseph, a transfer from California, scored a season-high 20 points against George Washington, shooting 4-of-11 from three-point range. He had gone 12 straight games without scoring in double figures and is averaging just 6.3 points per game. Loyola Chicago has four double-figure scorers, led by junior guard Justin Moore (12.5 PPG), who was held scoreless in eight minutes on Saturday.

It appears that Loyola Chicago doesn’t have nearly enough firepower to keep up with a surging George Mason team.
