No. 11 Gonzaga moved a half game ahead of Santa Clara in the race for the West Coast Conference regular-season title on Saturday and notched its NCAA-record 19th straight season with at least 25 wins.
Graham Ike continues to look like he’s going to run away with the WCC Player of the Year award. He posted 21 points and a season-high 15 rebounds in Gonzaga’s 94-86 win over the Broncos, and he did that despite missing time in the second half because he was in foul trouble.
Ike has scored at least 20 points in seven straight games, including a season-high 35 points against Oregon State on Feb. 7. He has crossed the 20-point mark 13 times this season, and he has 13 double-doubles on his resume.
The 6-foot-9 fifth-year senior from Aurora, Colorado, will try to make it eight-straight 20-point efforts when Gonzaga (25-2, 13-1 WCC) hits the road to face WCC foe San Francisco on Wednesday.

The Zags have won 18 of their past 19 games. Their lone loss in that stretch was a surprising 87-80 setback against Portland. Gonzaga will host Portland for the rematch on Feb. 25 before it wraps up the regular season at Saint Mary’s on Feb. 28.
Gonzaga’s Adam Miller added 21 points against Santa Clara, while Emmanuel Innocenti finished with 16 points and six rebounds, and Tyon Grant-Foster came off the bench to put up 20 points and seven rebounds.
San Francisco (15-13, 7-8 WCC) snapped a three-game losing skid with a 92-79 win at San Diego on Saturday. Six-foot-5 guard Vukasin Masic led the Dons with 22 points, while 6-foot-9 forward David Fuchs added 21 points and 13 rebounds. Seven-foot forward Guillermo Diaz Graham came off the bench to put up 17 points and five rebounds.

Gonzaga at San Francisco Prediction
I predict Gonzaga wins 80-72.
Gonzaga is barreling toward another WCC title in its final season in the league and another deep run in the NCAA Tournament. The Zags will join the Pac-12 later this year, but first, they appear destined to snap Saint Mary’s two-year run as regular-season champion.
Ike is one of the best players in the country. He can score against anyone, he’s a double-double machine, and he is a force to be reckoned with around the rim. He is a big part of why Gonzaga scored 66 points in the paint against Santa Clara.
Head coach Mark Few has piled talent around him, enough so that Gonzaga just keeps winning even with its second-leading scorer, Braden Huff, on the bench with a knee injury.
That being said, Gonzaga barely escaped with a 68-66 win the last time it faced San Francisco. The Dons are one of the few teams in the WCC that can compete with the Zags on the boards. They’ll do so again, but they won’t have an answer for Ike.
