The Gonzaga men’s basketball team has won 10 straight games heading into what will soon be a Pac-12 matchup for the No. 9 Bulldogs at Washington State on Thursday.
Gonzaga is joining Washington State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Boise State, Fresno State, Colorado State, Utah State, and Texas State in the new Pac-12 later this year.
This year’s contest features teams heading in vastly different directions.

Gonzaga (17-1, 5-0 West Coast Conference) hasn’t lost since a 101-61 defeat at Michigan in November. The Bulldogs average 91.4 points a game, which ranks No. 11 in the country, and two-time first-team All-WCC pick Graham Ike posted his 10th double-double of the season with 34 points and 11 rebounds in a 89-77 win over Santa Clara on Jan. 8.
Washington State (8-10, 3-2 WCC) is coming off an 88-82 loss to conference-leading Saint Mary’s.
Gonzaga has the WCC’s top scoring offense by a wide margin. Santa Clara is No. 2 with 83.3 points a game. The Bulldogs also lead the league with 42.9 rebounds a night and rank No. 2 in scoring defense (67.9 PPG).
Washington State, which temporarily joined the WCC last year after the collapse of the old Pac-12, is averaging 75.2 points per game, which ranks No. 9 in the 12-team league. The Cougars are led by 6-foot-3 freshman Ace Glass, who is averaging 15.9 points a game and ranks No. 3 on the team with 36 assists.

Gonzaga at Washington State Prediction
I predict Gonzaga wins, 90-72, and covers the spread.
Gonzaga just has too much size, firepower, and experience for Washington State. Ike is on pace to earn a third-straight all-conference honor and may compete for conference player of the year honors, and he’s not the only Bulldog that could be in the running. Six-foot-10 junior Braden Huff is tied with Ike with a team-high 17.8 points a game.
Ike, a 6-9 graduate student, leads the team with 8.6 rebounds a night, and Grand Canyon transfer Tyon Grant-Foster is adding 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds a game while leading the team with 23 blocked shots. The 6-foot-7 graduate student was Grand Canyon’s leading scorer and earned Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors last season.
Gonzaga won at least a share of 11 straight WCC regular-season titles between 2013 and 2023, and it looks like the Bulldogs are well on their way to adding another trophy to the case in their final season in the conference.
