The Grand Canyon men’s basketball team is heading to the 2025 NCAA Tournament after winning the Western Athletic Conference. In the WAC tourney, it defeated UT Arlington 98-75, California Baptist 75-66, and Utah Valley 89-82 in the championship game to clinch the auto-bid.
The Antelopes are 26-7 this season and on a 3-game winning streak.
Grand Canyon NCAA Tournament Appearances
In 2025, Grand Canyon basketball will make its 4th appearance in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament. The Antelopes also reached the tourney in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
They began playing in Division I in the 2013-14 season and became postseason-eligible in 2017-2018.

Grand Canyon has won one game in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament, beating Saint Mary’s 75-66 in the 2024 First Round.
Its overall record in the Big Dance is 1-4.
Grand Canyon Basketball Coach Bryce Drew Salary
Bryce Drew has a base salary of $1.3 million as Grand Canyon’s head coach.
Drew is in his fifth season as GCU’s coach, leading the Antelopes to four NCAA Tournament appearances. After a 17-7 record in his first year, GCU has finished 23-8, 24-12, 30-5, and are currently 26-7 this year.
Drew was previously the head coach at Vanderbilt, going 40-59 from 2016 to 2019. Before Vandy, he led Valparaiso with a 124–49 overall record from 2011 to 2016.
