From The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Global Credit Union in Phoenix, Arizona, the Mountain West is home to some of the top venues in college basketball.

Here’s a look at the top four homecourt advantages in the Mountain West.

New Mexico – The Pit

Seating capacity: 15,411

Average attendance (MW rank): 12,296 (1st)

The Lobos are 12-0 at home this season, including wins over Grand Canyon and Nevada. They’re on a 23-game home winning streak, which ranks No. 3 in program history. It’s also the fifth-longest active streak in the country. They won 22 straight home games between 2004 and 2006. New Mexico has won 16-straight home games against Mountain West teams, and the Lobos are 56-9 at The Pit since 2022-23.

San Diego State – Viejas Arena

Seating capacity: 12,414

Average attendance (MW rank): 11,138 (2nd)

The Aztecs are 9-1 at home this season, including wins over New Mexico and a 110-107 triple-overtime victory over Boise State. Their only home loss was a 108-107 overtime setback against Troy early in the season. San Diego State is 118-15 at home since head coach Brian Dutcher was hired in 2017, and the Aztecs are 73-7 in their past 80 games at Viejas. They’re 127-18 in home games against Mountain West teams since 2009-10.

Utah State – Dee Glen Smith Spectrum

Seating capacity: 10,270

Average attendance (MW rank): 9,167 (4th)

Utah State is 7-1 at home this season, including a 71-62 win over Nevada. The Aggies’ 86-76 home loss to UNLV on Jan. 20 snapped their 11-game home winning streak. They’re 50-6 at home over the past four seasons.

Grand Canyon – Global Credit Union Arena

Seating capacity: 7,000

Average attendance (MW rank): 7,107 (6th)

Global Credit Union Arena isn’t as large as some in the Mountain West, but it’s regularly one of the fullest venues in college basketball at 102.4 percent capacity. It’s also one of the most raucous environments in the country, with as many as 3,000 students showing up for some games. That’s a student section that spans more than 48% of the arena.

The Antelopes are 9-2 at home this season, including wins over Utah State and San Diego State. They did fall to Colorado State, 70-60. Grand Canyon has won 41 of its past 44 home games, and it is 190-41 at home since the arena opened in 2011. They were undefeated at home in 2023-24, and the Antelopes are 80-12 at home in six seasons under head coach Bryce Drew.
