The Saint Louis men’s basketball team is heading to the 2026 NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid. In the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament, the Billikens defeated George Washington 88-81 before losing 70-69 to Dayton in the semifinals.
The Billikens are 28-5 entering the Big Dance.

In 2026, Saint Louis basketball will make its 11th appearance in the Division I NCAA Tournament.
The Billikens also reached the tourney in 1952, 1957, 1994, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2019.

Saint Louis NCAA Tournament Wins
Saint Louis has won seven games in the Division I NCAA Tournament, defeating New Mexico State in 1952, Minnesota in 1995, UMass in 1998, Memphis in 2012, New Mexico State in 2013, NC State in 2014, and Georgia in 2026.
The Billikens have a 7-11 overall record in the Big Dance.
Saint Louis Basketball Coach Josh Schertz
Josh Schertz is in his 2nd season leading the Saint Louis program, being named the head coach in April 2024.
The Billikens finished 19-15 in Schertz’s first season before surpassing 25 wins this year.
His head coaching experience dates back to 2008 at Lincoln Memorial. In 13 years there, Schertz went to 10 NCAA Division II Tournaments. He parlayed that into the Indiana State head coaching job, where Schertz went 66-40 from 2021 to 2024. The 2023-24 season saw a 32–7 record with the Sycamores.
