The USF men’s basketball team is heading to the 2026 NCAA Tournament after winning the American Conference. In the American Tournament, the Bulls defeated Charlotte 86-64 and Wichita State 70-55 in the championship game.
The Bulls are 25-8 entering the Big Dance and on an 11-game winning streak.
USF NCAA Tournament Appearances
In 2026, USF basketball will make its 4th appearance in the Division I NCAA Tournament.
The Bulls also reached the tourney in 1990, 1992, and 2012.

USF Basketball NCAA Tournament Wins
USF has won two games in the Division I NCAA Tournament, defeating Cal in the 2012 First Four and Temple in the 2012 First Round.
The Bulls have a 2-4 overall record in the Big Dance.
USF Basketball Coach Bryan Hodgson
Bryan Hodgson is in his first season as USF’s head coach, being named to take over the program on March 24, 2025.
He arrived from Arkansas State, where he spent two seasons as head coach with back-to-back 20-win seasons. In 2023-24, Hodgson was named a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, given to the nation’s top first-year head coach. Hodgson also spent time as an assistant coach at Alabama from 2019 to 2023 and at Buffalo from 2015 to 2019.
Hodgson played college basketball at Jamestown Community College for two seasons and was a team captain both years.
