Chris Ash Had Perfect Answer to Question About Rutgers’ Struggling Passing Game

Chris Ash Had Perfect Answer to Question About Rutgers’ Struggling Passing Game

Rutgers head coach Chris Ash made headlines for defending his decision to kick a field goal in the final minute of a 56-0 game vs. Ohio State. And while his "We wanted to get points on the board" comment was perfect, his answer to another question was equally amazing.

COMPARE: How Does Rutgers Stack Up To Any Team?

It was the second-straight year the Scarlet Knights were shut out by the Buckeyes. They were throttled in Columbus last October, 58-0, giving them a combined minus-144 point margin in their last two meetings. They've completed just 14 total passes in the games, and while Saturday's 11 completions were a big improvement from last year's three, it was another miserable day for Rutgers' quarterbacks.

None of their 11 completions went to wide receivers, prompting a reporter to ask him in the postgame press conference, "What was the reason behind that?"

The reporter was clearly hoping the second-year Rutgers' head coach would discuss their scheme and execution, or at least mention specific players, sequences or something of that variety.

Nope.

"We didn't complete any," Ash said.

You sir, are correct. Any other questions?
