The Cleveland Browns went full Draft Day and ended up with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback after a flurry of trades. But if there's anyone in Cleveland truly thinking, "great, we solved the QB position," I've got a bridge to sell them.
I actually like the move to get Taylor for Cleveland. He's a capable starting quarterback, he's a pretty good fit for the type of offense Cleveland currently has — pretty good offensive line, athletic receivers — and they got him for relatively cheap, a third-round pick.
But Taylor's not the future. If he was, Buffalo would have been more interested in keeping him. The Browns need to cultivate a franchise arm, and Taylor gives them breathing room to get Sam Darnold into starting shape over the next year or two.
