College Football Rankings: Top 10 FCS Defensive Ends of 2016

No. 9: Keontre Anderson, Jackson State

2016 Stats
Tackles Solo tackles Tackles for loss Sacks Sacks/Game
55 31 25.5 8.5 .77

Keontre Anderson basically lives in the opponent’s backfield.

The junior from Jackson State finished the 2016 season with 25.5 tackles for a loss (2.3 per game), leading all of the FCS in both categories. With 8.5 sacks to go along with those stops for negative yards, he’s clearly an impact player in both run and pass defense.

Anderson was second in Southwestern Athletic Conference play in sacks, and had six more tackles for loss than any other player in the conference leading his own teammate — Javancy Jones — who came in second with 19.5 tackles for loss.

It’s easy to see why Jackson State led the SWAC in pass defense — with a guy like Anderson wreaking havoc on opposing offensive lines, it’s tough to move the ball through the air.
