What do a chicken sandwich, domain name, and backyard weed-killing spray have in common? Surely you guessed they're on our list of the most absurd college bowl game names of all time, right?

With nearly 40 bowl games currently played each year, and the insane amount of money these contests can attain from naming rights, let's take a look at seven of the most ridiculous, confusing, and downright lame college bowl game names in the history of the sport.

7. Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman
Nothing at all against Northrop Grumman sponsoring the Military Bowl, but the pronunciation of "Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman" doesn't exactly roll of the tongue.

6. Chick-fil-A Bowl
This one makes the list simply because it ousted one of the most classic bowl game names in college football history back in 1997.
RIP the Peace Bowl.

5. Meineke Car Care Bowl
The bowl game that always reminds me I should probably replace that plastic hubcap that fell off of my 2000 Toyota Tacoma back in 2013.

4. GoDaddy.com Bowl
Do you think there's a single FBS coach out there that motivates his players during the dog-days of summer by screaming mid-practice, "Give it everything you've got men! The work you're putting in right now is how you'll make the GoDaddy.com Bowl!"
Let's also enjoy this classic quote from GoDaddy.com CEO Bob Parsons upon signing the agreement, “The GoDaddy.com Bowl has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?”
The answer to that would be a resounding "No!"

3. Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
The bowl contest played each December on Boise State's blue field seems poised on finding new bowl game names more ridiculous than the last.
First played as the Humanitarian Bowl, sponsorship changed to the clunky MPC Computers Bowl before settling on this.
Are those chives in the logo?

2. Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
And the Detroit-based post-season affair used to have such an appropriately cool name too.
Formerly the Motor City Bowl, the pizza makers paid for naming rights starting in 2009, giving us yet another classic corporate quote. “What food goes better with football than Little Caesars pizza?” said company Co-Founder Michael Ilitch at the time of the sponsorship agreement.
Where do we even start, Michael?

1. Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl
Easily the most absurd college bowl game name of all time, Poulan provided the sponsorship for six years for the Independence Bowl starting in 1990.
What kind of respect did former Houston and current Texas head coach Tom Herman have in 2016 when referring back to the Weed-Eater Bowl era? Let's just say he wasn't too kind during a radio interview when he inferred that any players satisfied with making this bowl game should think about attending "a private school up in Dallas that's really looking to try to get to 7 wins."
Herman (cont.): 'Those prices are a lot easier to pay. And if you're satisfied w/ going 7-5 and going to Poulan Weedeater Bowl then great.'

Tom Herman (cont.): 'Then you're in the wrong program and we'll find a place for you to go.'

More Herman: 'I hear there's a private school up in Dallas that's really looking to try to get to 7 wins. We can certainly find you a home.'
