There's coaching hot seats, and then there's chairs that are practically in flames.
Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin needs a fire extinguisher after today's 42 to 27 loss at home against Auburn.

DOUGHTY: 1 Big Reason Sumlin Should Be Fired
The laundry list of faux pas this year is staggering. The Aggies are just 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the SEC. They blew a historic lead in a week 1 defeat at UCLA, scarcely beat FCS foe Nicholls by 10, lost their last two home games in a row, and still have the likes of LSU on the schedule.
The way things are going, A&M should be very concerned about option-heavy New Mexico coming to town next weekend.
The biggest question today is this: Will their current head coach be on the sidelines when they kickoff next week against the Lobos? If not, here are 5 potential replacements for Kevin Sumlin at Texas A&M.

Lane Kiffin
Expect to hear Kiffin's name often between now and the offseason for vacant gigs at Power 5 schools.
After going 3-9 just a season ago, Kiffin already has Florida Atlantic bowl eligible at 6-3, which includes a perfect 5-0 record in conference play. If FAU plays in the Conference USA championship game and subsequent bowl, Kiffin may do the unthinkable — win 10 games in his first season at Boca Raton.

Scott Frost
The job Frost is doing over at UCF is nothing short of astounding. After taking over a team that went winless in 2015, the former Oregon offensive coordinator led the Knights to a bowl game in 2016. Now he has the school poised to make its first ever New Year's 6 bowl game after starting the season 7-0.

Matt Campbell
The Iowa State head honcho is one of the hottest names in college football right now thanks to incredible upset wins over undefeated Oklahoma and TCU. And anyone that tells you they had the Cyclones ranked #15 in the first College Football Playoff rankings is a stone-cold liar.
Campbell has been so successful in Ames this year that it's easy to forget he went 35-15 at Toledo, which included a pair of MAC West Division titles and coach of the year honors in 2015.

Chip Kelly
Already rumored to be in the running for the head coaching job at Tennessee and Florida, Kelly's innovative, high-flying offense could be just the shot in the arm the Aggies need.
Kelly went 46-7 during his stint at Oregon. Pretty sure that's something that would interest A&M fans.

Noel Mazzone
Currently the Aggies' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Mazzone has been a QB whisperer of sorts over the years. He's worked with Josh Rosen, Brent Hundley, Brock Osweiler, Philip Rivers, Jason Campbell and Kelly Stouffer.
If athletic director Scott Woodward decides to hire from within, Mazzone has the chops to resurrect the offense.
