Top 5 Pac-12 WIde Receivers in 2017: UW’s Dante Pettis, ASU’s N’Keal Harry Headline the List

HERO Sports by HERO Sports
June 29, 2017

The Pac-12 produces a truck load of skill-position talent year-in and year-out, including wide receivers John Ross, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chad Hansen, all selected in April's NFL Draft.

Here are the Top 5 wide receivers in the Pac-12 entering the 2017 season.

5. Shay Fields (SR) — Colorado
56 REC, 883 YDS, 9 TD

Fields (5-foot-11, 180) is a deep threat, catching nine balls for 30 or more yards, including a 70-yarder at Michigan. He and QB Steven Montez are familiar with one another and should hit stride early in 2017.[divider]

4. Demetris Robertson (SO) — California
50 REC, 767 YDS, 7 TD

Robertson's numbers will be dependent on the quarterback's abilities, but he's now the No. 1 receiver on the roster with Chad Hansen off to the NFL. He's built like a running back as much as a receiver but has good hands. While he lacks burner speed, Robertson is elusive and very good at the line of scrimmage to get off the defender and create space.[divider]

3. Deontay Burnett ((JR) — USC
56 REC, 622 YDS, 7 TD

Burnett had an enormous game in the Rose Bowl versus Penn State (13 catches, 164 YDS, 3 TD) and is back for another year catching balls from Sam Darnold, perhaps the best passer in college football. Smith-Schuster and Darreus Rogers are gone, leaving Burnett as Darnold's No. 1 target.[divider]

2. N'Keal Harry (SO) — Arizona State
58 REC, 659 YDS, 5 TD

Harry is as gifted a receiver as there is, maybe in the country, at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds and 40 times in the 4.4s. If he and Blake Barnett can develop some chemistry, Harry is destined for a big year, and so is the Sun Devils offense.[divider]

1. Dante Pettis (SR) — Washington
53 REC, 822 YDS, 15 TD

Pettis is the No. 1 receiver with John Ross in the NFL and brings enough size (6-foot-1, 195 pounds), and speed (4.5) as well as a terrific catch radius to every play. He's also one of the top punt returners in the conference. Jake Browning's confidence in Pettis is unmatched by another QB-WR tandem in the Pac-12.[divider]

Others to keep an eye on: Darren Carrington (SR) Oregon; Tavares Martin, Jr (JR) — Washington State; Chico McClatcher (JR) — Washington; Charles Nelson (SR) — Oregon; Shun Brown (JR) — Arizona; Devin Ross (SR) — Colorado; Darren Andrews (SR) — UCLA; Bryce Bobo (SR) — Colorado.
