Virginia Tech is a fringe top 25 team entering the 2017 season. While the Hokies lost a lot on offense from their team last year, they have a defensive back seven that is among the best in the conference and that will allow their new offensive pieces time to settle in.
In many ways, this should have been the year that the Hokies challenged for the ACC crown. Unfortunately a trio of star players – including quarterback Jerod Evans and wide receiver Isaiah Ford – bolted for the pros a year early. Head coach Justin Fuente though is a proven winner and many expect the Hokies to be a factor in the ACC Coastal race.
