Cooper Kupp Stats Proving He’s the Real Deal in L.A.

Cooper Kupp has played only four games thus far in the 2018 NFL season, and he's already just six points shy of last year's scoring output. With a pair of touchdowns during Thursday night's thrilling 38-31 win over the Vikings, the Rams' wideout now has four TD grabs on the season — just one shy of his 2017 total through 15 games played.

Just how compelling are Cooper Kupp's stats through the early portion of the season? Let's have a look.

2018 Cooper Kupp Stats

Here are the incredible numbers the Rams' WR has put up through the first quarter of the season, which has helped propel his squad to a 4-0 mark.

Catches Yards Average TDs
24 348 14.5 4

Kupp's receptions have already resulted in 15 first downs for the Rams' high-powered offense. His current pace of 60 first downs would shatter last year's mark of 42.

As you can see, his productivity should annihilate all of 2017's marks from his rookie season.

Catches Yards Average TDs
62 869 14.0 5

What's intriguing to note is that Kupp pulled down 62 of his 95 targets in 2017, which was good for 65.2 percent. He's blowing that percentage out of the water in 2018 in catching 24 of 32 targets — good for 75 percent.

Most NFL fans have only recently become familiar with Kupp, but the 6-2, 198-pound stud from Yakima, Washington, put up huge numbers in college at Eastern Washington of the FCS. Check out his career receiving numbers at the school from 2013-2016.

Catches Yards Average TDs
428 6,464 15.1 73

Yes, that is not a typo: Kupp was on the receiving end of TD passes on 73 occasions.

As Los Angeles enjoys a long week off before three straight road contests starting on October 7 at Seattle, take a look at Kupp in college to understand better why he was such a steal in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
