Technically speaking, the official mascot of BR-27 Texas Lutheran is the bulldog. However, three of their football players seemed to have adopted their own personal set of mascots: their chickens.
When Matt McCullough (starting strong safety), Tyler Howlett (starting left tackle), Casey Viator (back-up strong safety and key special teams player), and friend Michael Wall moved into a house with a chicken coop in the backyard, they decided to take the plunge and get a few chickens.

They started out with 10 in all, but are down to six after losing a few while they were on the road for an away game. The house favorite? Wilbur, the black rooster.

The four proudly call themselves the “Double Wide Dream” because they are living the dream (with their chickens) in their double wide trailer.
