If there's anything we've learned over the years when it comes to the NFL Draft, it's that selecting talent is far from an exact science. For every team overreaching to grab a player at the top of the first round is another with the savviness to show a bit of patience. Then there's next-level scouting and research that unearths hidden gems resulting in D3 players on 2018 NFL rosters.
There are currently 12 D3 players on NFL rosters, and none is more accomplished and known widely than Pierre Garçon of the San Francisco 49ers.

D3 Special Team Standouts[divider]
Garçon was such a beast at Mount Union from 2005 to 2007 that it's no wonder the Indianapolis Colts took a chance on the wide receiver during round six of the 2008 draft. The playmaker averaged more than 60 receptions, 1,000 yards, and 15 scores during his time as a Purple Raider, which resulted in All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors each season to go along with Division III All-American accolades in 2006 and 2007.
The Mount Union legend is now in his eleventh NFL season and is fast approaching over 8,000 receiving yards and 40 TD receptions.
