More than a decade after leading Boise State to 36 wins over three seasons, Dan Hawkins is back in college football and has his alma mater, UC Davis, rolling. If the Aggies keep rolling, might FBS schools come calling?
Dawkins went 53-11 in five seasons at Boise State (2001-05) before taking the Colorado job in 2006. He struggled to win consistently was fired in the middle of the 2010 season, leaving Boulder with only 19 wins in 58 games. One-year stints with the Montreal Alouettes, U.S. national team and Vienna Vikings peppered a six-year stretch in which he didn't coach college football. And two years ago, he returned to UC Davis, where he played in the early 1980s, as head coach and has immediately turned around the program.
