On March 24, NBC Sports NFL Draft analyst Josh Norris released his Top 50 Big Board of 2018 draft prospects. Derrius Guice was No. 9, ahead of guys like Denzel Ward, Tremaine Edmunds and Sam Darnold, all of whom are widely projected as top-10 picks.

"No nonsense runner," Norris wrote of Guice. "Wants to maximize the blocking in front of him and will win on contact, either a few yards on final contact or break into free space. Not afraid of contact and faced a number of heavy boxes."
Norris is not an uniformed hack spitting out hot takes in search of clicks and debate. He is a respected writer who knows his stuff. That's why this tweet on Sunday caught my attention.
"Derrius Guice will be a first round pick. Some teams might even view him as the RB1."
RB1. That, ladies and gentlemen, means "some teams might even view him" as a better prospect than Saquon Barkley.
Though Norris didn't say if he heard about Guice's potential RB1 status from scouts or teams (and, for what it's worth, Norris has Barkley ahead of Guice on his Big Board), it's still a paralyzing proclamation given Barkley's place atop most draft rankings.
