But which teams have it the toughest and which have it the easiest? Depending on which rating system you use, that question and the answers are debatable.

Top Five Easiest
ACC | Virginia Tech
The Hokies have one of the easiest schedules in all of FBS football. And they definitely take the cake in the ACC. They have a couple of tough games, but their schedule is loaded with teams like Furman, Rhode Island, and Old Dominion.
Big 10 | Nebraska
The Cornhuskers have the #59 overall schedule which doesn’t seem all too easy, but let’s remember the rest of the Big 10. We are talking about the easiest schedules for each Power 5 conference, not just the straight-up easiest schedules, which would go to teams like Old Dominion and Texas San-An. The Cornhuskers have an opportunity this season to ride their ‘easy schedule’ into a Big 10 title game.
SEC | Kentucky
Of all the SEC, Kentucky has the easiest road. Too bad they are as stacked with 5-Star talent as their Southeast Conference brethren. They have nerfed their 2019 schedule with Eastern Michigan Eagles, Toledo Rockets, and UT Martin Skyhawks.
Pac 12 | Washington State
The Cougs’ over at Wazzu decided to forego any power school in their non-conference play in 2019. Instead of taking on teams like Auburn and Notre Dame, like Oregon and USC, they opted for teams like New Mexico State and Northern Colorado. The Cougars might make a run at another excellent win number, but with their weak schedule, they will be hard-pressed ever to get a look at the top-25 even if they run the table.
Big 12 | Baylor
The Bears kept it light this year this season, and maybe that’s a good thing. They need to get back to their winning ways and maybe a confidence-boosting season is just what the program needs. They won’t play a Power 5 school in the non-con affairs and open the season with Stephen F. Austin and UTSA.

Top Five Toughest
ACC | Louisville
The Cardinals have one of the tougher schedules in the country as they start off against Notre Dame in South Bend, and take road trips to both Florida State and Miami, then finishing their season over in Kentucky to face the Wildcats.
Big 10 | Michigan
The Wolverines don’t face a single FCS opponent in 2019. Instead, they have road games against the Badgers in Wisconsin where they haven’t won in nearly 20 years. They also face the Hawkeyes who they haven’t beaten in seven years. And they take on Notre Dame, Middle Tennessee, and Army. This could be their year to take back the Big Ten with Urban out of Ohio State … but their schedule just might not allow for it.
SEC | South Carolina
The Games Cocks have the toughest schedule in the country. Almost anywhere you look, you’ll see them at No. 1 in SOS. They get ‘Bama and aTM, along with a road game in Georgia. They also have to prove their mettle against Clemson at home and get a neutral-site game against UNC.
Pac 12 | USC
The Trojans always play a tough schedule. It’s part of Trojan football culture. They open their season against the Mountain West Champs, the Fresno State Bulldogs, and also take a game against BYU in Provo. ON top of that, they play at Notre Dame and the University of Washington. USC doesn’t just have a hard schedule in the Pac 12; they have the No. 3 schedule in the country.
Big 12 | West Virginia
Where Baylor kept it light, the Mountaineers laid it on. They face Mizzou and N.C. State back-to-back. They have a lengthy road schedule that consists of Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor, and Kansas State. When you mix in tough Texas and Iowa State teams, West Virginia is sitting on the 14th hardest schedule in the country.
