ESPN College GameDay will open the 2019 season in Fort Worth, Texas before Auburn faces Oregon at AT&T Stadium in nearby Arlington.
Minutes after Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn announced the location (perhaps unintentionally?) on Thursday at SEC Media Days, ESPN made the official announcement:
"Remaining in its traditional 9 a.m. – noon ET timeslot on ESPN, fans can join College GameDay in Sundance Square in Fort Worth, Texas, on the season’s first full Saturday (August 31), in advance of Oregon vs. Auburn from AT&T Stadium," read an e-mail release. "The North Texas location will host College GameDay for the fourth time, including its third time as a season opener (2014, 2015). The rematch of the 2010 national championship game will also kickstart ABC’s Saturday Night Football slate (7:30 p.m.)."
